What a difference a year makes. At this time last year, we were anxiously sitting at our computers in anticipation of the launch of our new company, Brave Body Project. Prior to our launch, we had only scratched the surface on what our company was, who we wanted to reach out to, and how we were going to create a living, breathing, thriving company that had an impact on the fitness community. We knew our manifesto: Be strong. Be inspired. Be brave.
In our very first post, we talked about the challenges we faced while even imagining to start a company in the toughest city and the most constantly changing industry in the world. It’s too hard. It’s too much money. It’s too much time. There were so many roadblocks ready to stand in our way. How could we do it? Back then, there was one word that stopped us from calling it quits.
We said it then and we’ll say it now. That word still gets us every time. We had to feel the fear of starting this company and do it anyway. Brave through all the doubt, fear, financial woes, all the voices in our head saying we couldn’t do it. We had to stand tall and brave our way in the direction of our desires.
The push has been well worth the effort. Over the past 12 months, we’ve experienced a bunch of amazing things. We contributed to Shape magazine, Seventeen magazine, Self magazine, and more. We were on a national TV show together. We became Sweaty Betty ambassadors. We got sponsored by Puma. Above all, our greatest joy has come from creating our online fitness membership.
We’ve been able to help people from all over the world reach their fitness goals, commit to getting healthy, and most importantly, have a community; a place that they can call home. We’ve jumped for joy at our members transformations. We’ve (literally) shed tears over watching people who could barely do a push-up on their knees knock our a full set like it was their job. We feel honored and grateful that we’ve been fortunate enough to help people all over the country and the world live a strong, brave life through health and fitness.
At one year old, we’re still just a baby but we’ve created some pretty solid legs to stand on. And we couldn’t have done that without each and every one of you. Whether you’re an online member, you do our free BBP workouts, you watch our weekly vlogs, or you just support the idea of living a brave life that defies rules and embraces courage, we thank you.
Today we celebrate everyone out there living a life that’s courageous, full-hearted, and above all brave. We’re going to do our very best to keep inspiring you to continue living that life. Cheers to many more years of Brave Body Project.
We love you. Stay brave.
