It’s Fitness Myth week here at Brave Body Project and today we’re debunking our final myth of the week. Fitness Myth #5: Crash Diet or Bust!
Crash diets are called crash diets for a reason. They’re a short-term solution with serious long-term effects. Drastically cutting down your calories for a wedding/event/vacation will force your body to burn muscle for fuel instead of fat. And you know what having less muscle does? It slows down your metabolism. And that my friends is no bueño.
Bottom line: Get off the juice-cleanse-no-carbs-no-food train. That kind of yo-yo dieting is going to mess up your body in a serious way. Plus, you’re going to be walking around like a hangry b%$!h all day and nobody wants that kind of negativity in their life (OK!?!)
